Maine Maritime Museum is internationally known for keeping Maine's rich maritime history alive. There are plenty of things for the family to do inside the Museum's galleries, or visitors can explore the Percy & Small shipyard where 4-, 5- and 6-masted schooners were built until the 1920s. In season, the museum offers over 100 narrated boat cruises on the Kennebec River that delight all ages.
Peary MacMillan Arctic Museum   5 minutes
This free museum, located on the historic Bowdoin Campus, is dedicated to North Pole Explorers Robert E. Peary and Donald B. MacMillan. Complement your "arctic experience" with a visit to Eagle Island (boat access only) where Perry lived. Eagle Island is located off the southern tip of Harpswell, Maine. The closest launch point is about a 25-minute drive from The Parkwood Inn.
